All parents deserve to be offered compassionate and informed continuity of care including support and navigation help as soon as possible from well-trained Loss Advisors™, also called Baby Loss Doulas® or Bereavement Doulas™.
VISION
It is our dream that every parent who has a newly diagnosed loss has access to their own advocate. Someone who knows the options, decisions and how to present them positively and persuasively. The Loss Advisor™/Loss Doula® also knows how to compassionately support and guide such families (not just parents) and has a good handle on resources, literature, organizations, web/social media sites and more. This care can be given in person, over the phone, via email or social media. The care can also be given to families during a lethal pregnancy, prior to delivery, during or soon after delivery, when the parents are home, and specifically postpartum and subsequent pregnancy care. ACTION
After participating in an intensive certification program, Independent Advisors/Loss Doulas are well-prepared to give care in cooperation with staff from clinics, hospitals, funeral directors, churches, aong with childbirth educators, FIMR and public health professionals, and other medical professionals. Acting as advocates, guides, parent navigators, and care companions, these certified professionals can offer
